We remove chewing gum from public spaces.

Chewing gum is an unsightly but increasingly growing problem. Almost all pedestrianised areas have become covered with trodden-in blobs of discarded gum.

"Chewing gum has become one of the fastest growing environmental problems of the past decade"

DEFRA the government body has now classified chewing gum as litter and as such all local authorities have a legal responsibility to remove it.

Gumclear are specialists in the removal of gum from all surfaces such as tarmac, stone and even entrance matting and carpets. We clean up streets, paths, pedestrian areas, walkways - removing unsightly gum from any public spaces.

We can also supply you with gum removal machines and training in using them - for you to maintain your own sites.

Our system uses super heated dry steam at low pressure and injects a detergent chemical within the steam which destroys the gum, turning it into a powder which is swept away.

The Gumclear system is environmentally friendly as each machine only uses 2 litres of water per hour, which is safe for both the public and operator alike.

By removing gum with high pressure power washing, the gum is merely moved and can reform and stick in a different place. Grout and sand are also blown out of the joints and can leave surfaces at risk of movement increasing the chance of falls and claims.
